The weather is slowly improving and it’s time to plan for outdoor tennis.

Here are the updates for this month!

Ladies House League

We want to thank Maureen Griffith for stepping forward to volunteer to organize the Ladies House League this season.

The league will run:

  • 16 weeks
  • Start date – Tuesday May 7, 2024 until August 27, 2024
  • Start time 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • The first 15 ladies to register will form the league.
  • Subs are always needed so please register.
  • Registration opens on April 11, 2024.

To register:

  1. Open your online account
  2. Go to Adult Programs
  3. Click House Leagues
  4. Click Register Now under Tuesday House League (Ladies)

Maureen needs another volunteer to help with the program, especially if she is not available. If you can volunteer, please email the club at info@whiteoaksparktennis.com. 

Intra Club Sunday House League

The Sunday Mixed House League registration is now open. If you are interested in playing in the club House League on Sunday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., this is for you. It is a little bit social and a little bit team competitive and you should be available to play Sunday evenings.

For this League, players are at the intermediate level and up. It is a mixed league that needs 32 males and 32 females. Names will also be taken for a sub list so sign up early. Four captains are also needed to manage the resulting teams and volunteers should contact Shaughn McCluskey, House League Director programs@whiteoaksparktennis.com to express their interest.

The League runs for 16 weeks and starts Sunday May 26, 2024.

To register:

  4. Click Register Now under Sunday Mixed House League.

Tryouts will take place at the club on May 5, 2024 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rain date of May 12, 2024. To register:

  3. Click Team Tryouts
  4. Click Register Now under Sunday Mixed House League Tryouts.

***NEW Junior Round Robin and Junior ladder

We are excited to introduce a junior round robin on Saturday afternoons for both progressive ball (red, orange dot, green dot) and regular ball players and a Junior ladder.

This round robin is for players 18 and under who would like to compete and are able to start the point with a serve/return, and can maintain a rally.

The RR starts Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 2:30 – 5:00.

  • Progressive ball round robin 2:30-3:30
  • Regular ball round robin 3:30-5:00 pm.

Three courts will be set aside for play each Saturday afternoon. For those juniors interested in participating in the RR, have your parent, who is the primary member, register you each week that you want to play.  This is done through their online account by going to:

  • Register for Calendar Sign-Ups
  • Junior Round Robins
  • Select date and register

To register for the Junior ladder:

  1. Sign into your online account.
  2. Click Adult Programs
  3. Under Tennis Challenge Ladder, click Register for Ladder.
  4. Choose the Junior Ladder under the drop down menu.
  5. Click at submit application.

***New Self Rating Guide

When players register for the Round Robins, Ladder or teams, it is useful to know what your tennis rating is. The club has added a “Self-Rating Guide” to our website and here is the link https://www.whiteoaksparktennis.com/self-rating-guide/.

Inter Club Team Tryouts

Every season, the club holds tryouts for the 2 Leagues that the club participates in. It represents competitive play with other clubs in the west end of the GTA. Teams are always looking for high level, competitive players.

If you are interested in trying out for a team, read below.

Intercounty League

There are 5 Intercounty teams:

The Intercounty teams play during the day with the Majors and two Ladies “A” teams playing Wednesday mornings and the two 55+ teams playing Thursday mornings.

Male players are especially needed for the 55+ teams.

Tryouts will take place at the club on April 24, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a rain date of April 25, 2024.

Lakeshore League

There are 3 teams:

The Lakeshore League teams play Monday and sometimes Wednesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to about 10:00 p.m.

Tryouts will take place at the club on April 28, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a rain date of April 29, 2024 from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Key Fobs

This is a reminder that if you purchased a key fob, it can be picked up from the clubhouse from 11 am until 1 pm on:

  • Saturday, April 6th
  • Saturday, May 4th
  • May 1st onward, purchased FOBs may be picked up during attendant hours.

Please bring a driver’s licence or official document with your home address to verify your identity.
